Civil Rights Team sponsors "The Power of Words"

Troy Howard's Civil Rights team organized today's excellent school-wide assembly with Brandon Baldwin. He is the program manager for the Civil Rights Team Project at the Maine Attorney General's Office. His presentation on the Power of Words was focused on bias-based name calling.  Bias-based name calling is using words that describe a persons perceived race or skin color, national origin and ancestry, religion, physical and mental disabilities, gender, or sexual orientation in an insulting or purposefully damaging way.
