We were excited to welcome World of Change to our school on Friday, January 31.

This national nonprofit located right here in Maine uses the $10B in loose change sitting idle in households across the US as a tool to engage kids in creating wide-scale change. For more info, visit their website.

We now have World of Change coin jars at our school, and students were each given a World of Change coin pouch (with two quarters in starting change)
to use as a holder for the change they go about collecting for the effort.

Each of the students gets to choose where they want their change to make a difference. Be sure to ask your kids about the six organizations and how they were chosen. 100% of the change will go to the designated causes.

Over the coming weeks kids can bring change from home to school, to add to the jars and see how their change adds up with others in a big way.

We encourage you to take time to discuss this important program with your children and use it as an opportunity to illustrate how something as simple as change and the little things we do can make a big impact - especially when combined with the efforts of others. Our future relies on teaching students the importance of generosity and service to others. We are excited to see how much they can all achieve together.
