Dear Students, Parents and THMS Fans,

Our fall sports season is right around the corner and we are gearing up for a regular season full of fun, exercise, excitement and health. Unfortunately, Covid is still plaguing us and we will have to follow safety procedures and expectations to keep our student athletes and our fans safe. Additionally, we will need to keep abreast of the CDC case numbers and guidelines as they adapt and adjust to the changing Covid landscape.

Currently, as you know Waldo County is in the red designation with a high percentage of cases based on population. What that means for us is that we can continue to practice and play games with some precautions.

  1. Athletes, coaches, volunteers and fans should use the prescreening tool to assess if they are eligible to practice and play each day. Athletes should stay home if they are symptomatic or had direct contact with someone with Covid-19.

  2. Athletes should come prepared to practice with a mask and their own labeled water bottle. It’s a good idea to put a name on your mask too.

  3. Athletes should mask up when grouped up. When playing and running athletes can take their mask off. Though keeping one in their pockets at all times is recommended.

Spectators and Fans will also need to follow school and CDC guidelines. As these are not out yet we will update as soon as we get the guidance.

All sports are set to start soon except for cross country and golf. We are still looking for coaches for those sports. Please contact me if you are or know someone that might be interested in those coaching positions. Here is a link to the google calendar that has the practice and game schedule. PLEASE know that this is very subject to change due to weather and other circumstances that arise.

The best way to get and share information with coaches is the TEAMREACH app. This is a free app that you can download on your smartphone. Don’t have a smartphone? No, worries I can set you up to receive emails, just reach out to me personally and I can get that set up for you. The group codes for each sport are below. Please only join those that pertain to your own kids. The amount of members can get overwhelming quickly.

Forms: The following are forms that will be needed in order for your child to participate. These forms can be handed in to the coach, office or athletic director. Physical forms can be faxed directly to us at 338-5588.

Sports Permission and Health Questionnaire

Sports Physicals-we accept the form your doctor’s office prefers or you can pick up a form from the office.

Lastly, here’s the link to the district’s extra and co-curricular handbook.

Please know that this plan is subject to change as our responses to the Covid-19 pandemic evolve. We are hopeful that we will have a fun and safe athletic season. Go Lions!
